About

My name is Ragen Boling and I am the director/ owner of Jonesboro Montessori Academy (JMA). I was born and raised in Jonesboro where I attended the Nettleton School District. I met my Husband, Eric, in 1997 and we married in 2004 (we are high school sweethearts). We have two children: Houston and Lily.

My whole life, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. As soon as I turned 16, I began my career in child care. I worked as a  teacher  while I attended high school and obtaining my Masters in Education at ASU. GO RED WOLVES!! After I graduated, I got my first teaching job at Blytheville Public Schools. I taught there for 2 years as a 3rd grade teacher. Although I loved my time there, I needed to be closer to my family. It was then, that I realized it was time to pursue my dream of opening a school. Not just any school, but a Montessori. Through hard work, determination, and A LOT of love and support from family and friends, Jonesboro Montessori Academy was made a reality.

WHY MONTESSORI?
When I started working, it was improtant to our family that we enroll our children in the best educational system possible. We wanted a school that allowed them to work at their own pace and discover things that they cultivated. The Montessori Method, created by Dr. Maria Montessori, allows a child to naturally learn in a prepared environment. The Montessori Curriculum is made up by five areas: Language, Mathematics, Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural. It promotes a child-centered education that builds self-confidence. The Montessori Method encourages independance, freedom within limits, and a sense of order.
